Moon Over Water

Leaving the beauty of my hometown for a cross country vacation. Hope to get splendid shots like this one en route and back. See you in September!

Half Moon Rising

A floating upward in the southern sky over a rooftop, silently viewed by a lonely chimney. The half moon captured, if only for a slow motion second of the wink of the camera lens.

An Ancient Dragon

In the dark of the night a fiery dragon lies aglow and teases out memories of an ancient past where fear was a spectacle waiting for its own burning defeat.

A Perfect Boquet

It was a spring gift of hanging geraniums from my dear mother-in-law who always makes me feel loved and special. No wonder it keeps blossoming with perfect bouquets of bloom, I treat her with all the respect and admiration she deserves.

My Orb's Web

Every morning I come out to the front porch to admire the crocheted handiwork of our little orb spider. Like a giant fairy ferris wheel it seems to float in midair under the glints of the rising sun. My little friend is nowhere to be found, but must be exhausted and sleeping after a night's busy work.

A Maze of Red in the Cabbage

Sometimes when I'm cooking I get distracted by the food I see. For instance, I could just stare at this cut head of cabbage and try to follow the maze of red-violet to the place where a little ghostlike face appears... for moments on end.

The Polka Dotted Parasol

After the soaking rains, this little parasol poked up from the ground. I caught her in standstill motion before the final opening. A tiny little gift from the ground.

VA Sunset

Through the window of the car, the melt of the setting sun illuminates all with it's golden embrace.

Dusky Sky

The treetops seem to gaze at the movie screen sky in rapt attention. The misty moon gradually appears and begins her float to center stage awaiting the oohs and ahhs of her audience.

Seeds and Petals

These pink tipped petals seem to frame the various stages of the seeds of pollen that take center stage here. Some yellow and sunny, others browning and twisting on their delicate pedestals. All gloriously unique as they age and fall back into the earth for rebirth.

Under the Boardwalk

A quiet haven awaiting a blanket and two lovers, guarded by stately logs who have weathered many a storm and will keep a secret against the hushing of a curious sea.

From my Flowing Imagination

Usually I don't alter my photography, but here I digress... for you can see the colorful beauty of a simple town park that I've seen for so many days of my life... but always it's as interesting and colorful as if seeing it from another state... for the first time. I'll be away for a week or so, but I look forward to come back to my childhood town... for a last glimpse of a beautiful past.

A Flapping Good Time

There was squawking and flapping and crazy flight patterns as this mob of birds caught my attention while strolling the beach one fine winter day when they they thought no one was looking.

Tinge of Autumn

It was an unusually cool and rainy June, and perhaps this tree in it's infancy got confused with the season. Although taken in July, one would think that this would be the coloring found in the foliage well after the autumn equinox.

Black and Blue

Dark fronds of the mimosa tree pattern the blue sky of night fall, while distant oaks frame the view to the heavens.

Dewy Daisies

Is there any more perfect flower to represent the beauty of a summer's day than the field daisy? These perfectly bonneted heads display the freshness of the morning dew as they welcome and then reflect golden drops of a rising sunshine.

A Deer Friend

On the edge of the stream bank I met my cautious deer friend who stood very still and allowed me to get this photo. It was just getting dark and her eyes were aglow in the headlight of my flash.
