Spellbound

As I approached my jaw dropped like a child watching her first fireworks display. The explosion of spiky strands and odiferous fragrance held me transfixed in thrilling delight. The adult in me would love to know what this tree is called.

  1. What is it, do you have any idea? Sometimes our garden page in our local paper will have a picture someone has sent in to the county extension agent and they are able to identify. It does look like fireworks!

  3. I spent hours on the web trying to identify it. I saw one from a blog from Tokoyo, but it was not identified. If I wasn't so shy I would knock on the owner's door and see it they know. It is a spectacular tree though and I am content to just enjoy it's blooms. Have a wonderful day!

  7. Thanks Felicitas! I've lived in this neighborhood for 13 years and this is the first year I've noticed it.
