Great Blue Heron

I spied a heron through the forest bramble... tall, confident, and content to be who he is in a murky world.

  1. Such amazing - and terrifying! - birds. In flight they resemble modern day pteradactyles.

It's very cool that you got close enough to be able to photograph this one - though I don't imagine he's afraid of all that much!

  2. Actually I was quite far away as they are very skittish. They are like pteradactyles in flight with pounding wingbeats at takeoff. They just amaze me too. Have a beautiful day Felicatas!

  8. And, here we are striving for contentment. And, in that attempt we go past the obvious even when it is flashing with neon lights. We should learn from nature!
